Minnesota running back Trey Potts is transferring within the conference before the 2023 season.
The Pennsylvania native is coming home to play for the Penn State Nittany Lions after spending four seasons with the Golden Gophers program.
Potts made his announcement on Twitter Wednesday evening.

Potts entered the transfer portal in March. The former three-star recruit was averaging 110.4 yards and 1.2 touchdowns per game before collapsing on the sideline in a Week 5 game against Purdue in 2021. He missed the rest of the season with an unspecified health scare, but returned to the field in 2022.
This past season, Potts recorded 471 yards and three touchdowns through 12 games as a backup for star running back Mohamed Ibrahim.
Potts has shown the ability to be a top-tier running back option. Perhaps he can return to form in his final season of collegiate eligibility in 2023.
