Penn State and Ohio State are set to renew their rivalry this Saturday in State College.
Both teams are top five in the latest AP Top 25 poll and have a combined one loss heading into this matchup. It’s a game that will help determine who potentially plays for the Big Ten title and who makes the College Football Playoff.
With that in mind, ESPN’s FPI has released its final prediction for the game and to the surprise of nobody, it has Ohio State has the favorite. ESPN’s FPI gives OSU a 61% chance of beating PSU.
The Buckeyes come into this matchup with a 6-1 record, their only loss on the road against the Oregon Ducks. They have dominated the Nittany Lions in recent seasons, winning seven in a row and 11 of the past 12.
Their only loss during that time came in State College in 2016. The Nittany Lions are a perfect 7-0 and are on the heels of a 28-13 win against the Wisconsin Badgers.
It was their second-straight road win after surviving a scare in Southern California against the USC Trojans. If they can win this game, it’ll give fans more confidence in head coach James Franklin to win games against top competition.
The only thing that stinks is that it won’t be a night game. However, it will get started at Noon ET on FOX.
