Not many quarterbacks have played the position in both the Big Ten and the SEC, but Will Levis – who played for Penn State and Kentucky – is one of those rare few and he had some thoughts on the ongoing rivalry between the two conferences.
Speaking to The Spun, Levis was asked what the difference he experienced between the two conferences was. But Levis admitted that he didn’t experience much of a difference.
Levis said that the thing that stood out the most was that both conference have incredibly high talent levels. Due to his limited playing time while at Penn State, he felt he couldn’t give a proper evaluation of the Big Ten by comparison.
“Not too much honestly. People talk about the skill level and they’re both very, very, very competitive. Playing in the Big Ten East was no joke and I understood that. But playing in the SEC I recognized that there’s a ton of talent down here as well and it’s hard to put one over the other because I didn’t really get as much playing time in the Big Ten compared to the SEC. There’s definitely some great athletes in both,” Levis said.

That’s probably not going to do anything to dissuade fans of both conferences from continuing to declare that theirs is superior.
But now at least we have the perspective of someone who played the most important position in both.
Where do you fall on the Big Ten vs. SEC debate?
