The Ohio State-Penn State rivalry game is not going to be played on a yearly basis starting next year.
The game was not protected by the Big Ten on Thursday, which means that it will rotate from year-to-year. Games that were protected include Michigan-Ohio State, Michigan-Michigan State, Wisconsin-Iowa, and many more.
Ohio State-Penn State *not* a protected rivalry. https://t.co/ZlEsUg6E8P

While some won’t be upset about this news, others will be since this is a game that a lot of people look forward to each year.
Seeing those two teams play against each other, whether it’s in Columbus or Happy Valley, is always a blast even though Ohio State has dominated the rivalry as of late.
The Buckeyes have won 10 of the last 11 meetings in the series and lead the all-time series with a 23-14 record.
The Nittany Lions last won in 2016 when they upset the Buckeyes, who were the No. 2 team in the country at the time.
