The Penn State Nittany Lions have been one of the best recent stories of the college basketball season and much of that has to do with the coaching of Micah Shrewsberry.
As Penn State continues to win, more and more rumors have been building linking Shrewsberry to other jobs, including Georgetown. After today’s Big Ten semifinal win over Indiana, Shrewsberry said that his only focus is on the team he’s with now.
“I’m complete tunnel vision on our team… that’s all I’m focused on. I’m happy to be here,” the coach explained, via The Athletic’s Dana O’Neil. “Nobody wanted me a few years ago, right?”
After Saturday’s 77-73 win over No. 3 Indiana, Shrewsberry has the chance to bring Penn State its first Big Ten men’s basketball title in program history.
The Nittany Lions are 22-12 on the year and in line to make their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2011.
There’s plenty to be happy about in Happy Valley this March.
