The Ohio State Buckeyes are in a low-scoring dogfight with the Penn State Nittany Lions and Urban Meyer believes he knows why.
During the halftime review of what was a 10-6 Ohio State game, Meyer criticized both teams for not trusting their respective quarterbacks. Quarterbacks Kyle McCord and Drew Allar have combined for just 17 completions and less than 225 combined passing yards.
“You talk about lack of trust. These are top-five teams right now that don’t trust their quarterback,” Meyer said.
The only touchdown in what has otherwise been an offensive struggle has come from Buckeyes running back Miyan Williams in the middle of the second quarter.
Fans are having a hard time disagreeing with Meyer here:
Have to agree with Urban Meyer. Neither of these coaches trust their quarterbacks at all.

I despise Urban Meyer but what he just said about the QBs in this game couldn’t be more spot on… zero trust.

Urban Meyer is spot on. Neither of these coaches trust their quarterbacks.

Regardless of who wins this game, neither team is going to be able to beat the Michigan Wolverines if they can’t get more production out of their respective quarterbacks.
Today’s performance is not going to do either of the teams any favors in the College Football Playoff rankings either. It wouldn’t be surprising if both teams find themselves outside of the top four regardless of the outcome.
