Can the keep from dipping below .500
After almost a month away, the Pittsburgh Panthers are back at Acrisure Stadium.
Coming off back-to-back losses, the Panthers will be scrapping to stay above .500 against another ranked opponent. This week the Panthers will welcome the Syracuse Orange, who comes in at number 20 in the College Football Playoff rankings.
The Panthers and the Orange have an extensive history dating back to 1916, but recent history has been dominated by the Panthers. The Panthers have won 17 of the last 20 meetings and the Orange haven’t won in Pittsburgh since 2001. Narduzzi though shrugged off just how much of a rivalry this game is.
“I think we all go back to the Big East days,” Narduzzi said. “Is it one of those where we’re going to fight in the tunnel? I don’t think so. But it’s a rivalry game. But I don’t know if it’s to that extent.”
All eyes will be on the Panthers’ performance in the fourth quarter. In each of the last two losses, the Panthers have taken a lead into the fourth quarter just to collapse and end up losing by double digits.
The Panthers come into this game currently as favorites. The current spread is Panther -4.0 with an O/U of 48.
