Pitt has officially secured its first transfer portal acquisition.
Iowa State transfer Dishon Jackson will play for the Panthers next season, they announced on Friday.
“Dishon is an aggressive and physical post player who moves well and has a good feel for the game on both ends of the floor,” said Pitt head coach Jeff Capel. “He is someone we targeted early in the transfer portal because he consistently
plays with toughness, physicality, and a competitive edge. He will be a strong veteran voice on the court and in the locker room.”
The 6-foot-11 forward averaged 8.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game in his senior season. He will enter his final season of eligibility with Pitt. The Panthers also signed Iowa State transfer Nojus Indrustaitis on Monday.
Pittsburgh went 8-12 in the ACC this season and is hoping these two acquisitions could be a step in the right direction for the program.
