Jaland Lowe, the 6-foot-1 4-star point guard from Fort Bend Marshall (TX), committed to Pittsburgh on Saturday.
“I will be committing to the University of Pittsburgh,” he said on Instagram.
Lowe, a Filipino-American from Houston ranked the No. 13 point guard in the class of 2023 by 247Sports.com, also visited SMU and Memphis.
“I ultimately chose Pitt because of the culture they have, the program they’re building, my relationship with the coaching staff, and the opportunity I’m going to have when I get there,” Lowe told On3.
He added that they’ll be getting “A hard-nosed point guard. A true point guard that can score, help his teammates look good, and win. That’s really what I’m trying to do.”
He joins shooting guards Marlon Barnes and Carlton Cunningham in coach Jeff Capel’s 2023 class.
