Yes, we are still doing this.
So I was hoping to get through more of these before the season started but my kids were all sick last week so let’s get back to it.
Position: G

Burton played a couple of years at Wichita State before heading to Texas Tech for a year. He’s spent the last two seasons with Pitt. He was Pitt’s minutes leader at 34.2 per game last season. Despite the heavy workload, Burton took care of the ball by only averaging 2 turnovers per game. He makes his free throws as well, converting 88% last season (2nd in ACC). Burton doesn’t possess the speed of some other guards on Pitt’s roster but what he does do very well is change direction and speeds.
Burton was Pitt’s leading scorer on Friday night with 16. It did come along with 8 turnovers but I don’t see that consistently happening. He’s recorded 2 turnovers or fewer in 89 of his 122 career games. He’ll again be one of Pitt’s best scorers this season and with all Pitt players, improving his efficiency is key.
