Revis was a standout defensive player for the Pittsburgh Panthers from 2004-2006 and was taken in the 2007 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. During Darrelle’s time with Pitt, he put together a very impressive stat line of 80 total tackles and 8 interceptions over his three seasons. Revis gained enough notoriety during his collegiate and professional career to garner the nickname “Revis Island” and was a shutdown corner till he retired in 2017.
Throughout his collegiate career, Revis received many awards for his play on the Panthers including First Team All-Big East in 2005 and 2006, and ESPN College Football Play of the Year in 2006 for his 73 Yard Punt return for a late-game touchdown in the Backyard Brawl. He was also a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award and the Bronco Nagurski Trophy in the 2006 season.
Revis is also remembered by Pitt fans for moments such as his blocked field goal against Connecticut in 2006 which was returned for a score, and his interception against Cincinnati in 2006 which was also returned for a score.
The ACC Championship Game will take at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina on December 3 and will be broadcast on ABC/ESPN at 8 pm.
