This should ease some of the fan bases anxiety over the recruiting class
It has been a rough season for the Pittsburgh Panthers so far with the season not going as hoped. After seeing a couple of Pitt verbal commits reopen their recruitment process in recent weeks, many of those following the 2023 class had wondered if the prize of the class, Kenny Minchey, would be next.
After the verbal commitment to Pitt, Minchey received an offer from Norte Dame and Ohio State was showing interest. With the Panthers’ tough year and the power programs starting to take a look, the fan bases were starting to get worried Minchey would look to greener pastures.
According to Pittsburgh Sports Now, not only is Minchey fully committed to Pitt, the quarterback intends to enroll early as well. According to the report, Minchey will sign his letter of intent in December and arrive in Pittsburgh in January.
Minchey is the highlight of Narduzzi’s 2023 class as their highest-rated prospect. Minchey is the number 12 quarterback in the class and the number four prospect in Tennessee according to 24/7 sports.
There is uncertainty surrounding what the quarterback room will look like in Pittsburgh next season. Current starter Kedon Slovis isn’t having the season many imagined coming into Pitt. Many thought the quarterback could be a one-and-done and would test the NFL waters at the season’s end. Now, all possibilities are still on the table. With players able to enter the transfer with more freedom, being able to ensure yourself a quarterback as talented as Minchey on the roster is a good start.
