Penguins embarrassed by Stars on home ice. If you want to relive the horror then you’re in the right place.
Any hopes of building momentum from their win on Friday night in Washington was quickly wiped out when the Dallas Stars skated into PPG Paints Arena and thoroughly demolished the Pittsburgh Penguins 7-1 on Monday night. The teams played the full 60 minutes of allotted time, but in reality, this game was over in the first 20 when the Stars jumped out to a 6-0 first period lead. [Pensburgh]
Pens Points…
Tristan Jarry is back with the team after his AHL stint and the Penguins are back home this week with a more favorable schedule that offers plenty of chances to bank some points. [Pensburgh]
Kevin Hayes is headed to injured reserve as he continues to battle an upper-body injury. His full timetable to return is TBD, but since his move to the IR is retroactive, he could return this week. [ESPN]
Jarry is not the only player making a much anticipated return to the Penguins from the AHL. Former first round pick Sam Poulin will be making the trip to Pittsburgh as well. [Trib Live]
For Poulin, this return to the NHL is another chance to prove himself after years of on-ice and off-ice struggles and is an opportunity he does not take for granted. [Trib Live]
