Sidney Crosby has moved into 9th place on the NHL all-time scoring list.
Crosby had a goal and two assists during the Penguins’ 5-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night at PPG Paints Arena, helping him move past Joe Sakic in 10th place on the all-time list.
It was the first time the Penguins defeated the Oilers since 2019.

Crosby has the most points among active NHL players.
The Penguins’ captain entered the game one point shy of Sakic’s 1,641 points and now has 1,643 points.
Next up on the all-time scoring list is fellow Penguins legend Mario Lemieux, who currently sits 80 points ahead of Crosby.
With the win over Edmonton, Crosby and the Penguins are tied with the Columbus Blue Jackets for the Eastern Conference’s second wild card spot with 44 points.
The Penguins get back in action tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. when they will host the Ottawa Senators and Sunday evening at 5 p.m. when they host the Tampa Bay Lightning.
