Crosby has been a mainstay on the network’s list for years.
Sidney Crosby is still a top player in the NHL, according to a new ranking that was released last night.
The NHL Network compiled its annual ‘Top 50 Players Right Now’ list and Crosby was listed as the 11th player in the league, sitting just outside the top ten.
Crosby’s being included on the list comes not long after signing a new, team-friendly contract extension that will keep the longtime Pens’ captain with the team for two more years at a cap hit of just $8.7 million, less than several players ranked below him on the NHL Network’s list.
Entering his 20th year in the NHL, Crosby has his highest point total in five years last season, scoring 42 goals and 52 assists for a total of 94 points.
