The terms of the deal have yet to be released.
Kiner-Falefa, 29, began his career in 2018 with the Texas Rangers, playing four years for the team. Ahead of the 2022 season, Kiner-Falefa was traded to the New York Yankees, where he spent two years. This past offseason, he was dealt to the AL East rival Toronto Blue Jays, where he has made 82 appearances so far this season.
Kiner-Falefa is batting a career-best .292 with seven home runs and 33 RBI’s. He has experience playing both in the infield and outfield, giving the Pirates some flexibility with their lineups going into the final two months of the season.
