If this is indeed the end of German’s tenure in the organization, it ends without the righthander ever making an appearance in MLB. Signed late in camp on March 16 to a minor league deal worth $1.25 million with a team option for $2.25 million for 2025, Visa issues and needing to be built up prevented him from making a start with AAA Indianapolis until May 19.
Struggles with command have caused the former New York Yankee to struggle at AAA, walking 28 batters in 50.1 innings pitched on his way to a 5.36 ERA in ten starts with Indianapolis. It’s somewhat hard to imagine he’ll get the MLB offer he’s looking for, but he may sign with another organization that has an easier path to making the Majors.
