The Pittsburgh Pirates are going into the last week of August. Where are they in the latest MLB power rankings?
The Pittsburgh Pirates are entering the final week of August.
Let’s take a look at where they are ranked in power rankings across the internet:
CBS Sports, Matt Snyder: 22, up 1
Their road to contention next season is with the top three in the rotation. That’s why it was so good to see Mitch Keller bounce back with a great outing this past week after two awful starts.
MLB.com, Will Leitch: 23, no change
There may have been some sour feelings when Barry Bonds left Pittsburgh more than 30 years ago, but there weren’t any over the weekend when Bonds, alongside Jim Leyland and Manny Sanguillen, was inducted into the Pirates Hall of Fame. “I was shocked it was happening,” Bonds said. “It’s nice coming back to a place where it started for me.”
Bleacher Report, Joel Reuter: 21
The Pirates took three of four from the Reds over the weekend, but both teams have fallen far enough out of the wild-card race to include them in this tier. The 2024 season may not have gone as hoped, but there is reason for excitement looking to the future for both fanbases.
