There’s a list of Bucs hitting the open market. Are there any worth keeping?
With the season all wrapped up for the Pittsburgh Pirates, it’s time to start thinking about next season. The Bucs have several upcoming free agents at the Major League level and a several more who are electing it from the Minor Leagues.
Here’s your main free agents:
Andrew McCutchen
Aroldis Chapman
Yasmani Grandal
Ryan Borucki
Jalen Beeks
Marco Gonzales
These Minor Leaguers spents some time with the varisty this season and some have become eligible to elect free agency this year earlier than usual. Those players are:
Domingo German
Edward Olivares
Ryder Ryan
Jake Woodford
Billy McKinney
Justin Bruihl
Let us know in the comments who think is coming back. Is there anyone you want back? Obviously most of us want to see Cutch in the ‘Burgh, but the rest of the list is very much up in the air. Grandal wasn’t great, Chapman was hit or miss and Gonzales was injured and the Bucs will rightfully decline his $15 million option. Is there anyone you’d go out of your way to keep?
How about from the Minor League list? Most of those guys struggled in their limited time in the big leagues this season, and I personally wouldn’t be sad to see any of them go. German was one of the biggest “what” moments of the season from the Bucs and certainly didn’t do anything to remotely justify the acquisition. But anyone from that list you’d be interested in keeping?
