Here’s your results of this week’s question!
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the MLB. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Pittsburgh Pirates fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
This week’s Reacts question had a pretty big ask. With the Pirates as stinky as ever — they currently have the fourth worst record in baseball — Bucs fans have been getting more and more frustrated. “Sell the team” chants have permeated the ballpark basically any time Paul Skenes isn’t pitching, and I’m sure there’s more than a few of us here who would like to see that happen. But should Bob Nutting sell, there’s a chance a new owner could move the team out of Pittsburgh and into a more economically viable location. A small chance maybe, but a chance nonetheless.
What we wanted to know was, would you still want Nutting to sell the team if it meant they would leave Pittsburgh? Here are those results.

I actually feel 30 percent was a little higher than what I expected. But I understand it. Should the Pirates leave, the city would still have the team’s history. And let’s face it, we’ve all been relying on the team’s history and not the present for basically 45 years now (a few short blips of success notwithstanding). In addition, there’s nothing stopping a new team eventually making their way back to Pittsburgh, a la Cleveland Browns. Anyway, that’s much higher than I thought it would be.
