Defensive back started eight games in 2023
Former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Keanu Neal announced his retirement today on social media.
Neal signed a two-year, $4.25 million contract with the Steelers in March of 2023. He played in nine games that season, starting eight at strong safety. Neal had 33 tackles, one interception and a fumble recovery. The lone interception was very important, stopping a Green Bay drive in the end zone to preserve the victory.

That was his last moment on the field with the black and gold or any team. Neal suffered a rib injury that sent him to IR for the rest of the season. The Steelers released him the following March.
Neal was a former Pro Bowler in Atlanta. Pittsburgh acquired him in the wake of the Terrell Edmunds’ departure, who had signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. Neal ends his eight-year career with 523 tackles, four interceptions, eight forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries.
