The former Steeler is heading to Tennessee
The Pittsburgh Steelers were notoriously thin at the wide receiver position in 2024. After trading Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers, the Steelers failed to bring in another starting-caliber boundary wideout. This led to several dart-throw signings, such as Scotty Miller, Quez Watkins, and Van Jefferson.
Both Miller and Jefferson had been part of Super Bowl-winning teams, and Watkins was on the Philadelphia Eagles’ roster when they appeared in their first Super Bowl matchup with the Chiefs. However, none of these truly panned out, but Jefferson was the one who had the most success with 24 receptions and two touchdowns on the year. Now, he is heading elsewhere.
The Tennessee Titans have signed Jefferson to a one-year deal worth up to $2.5 million, per Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports. He joins another very thin receiving corps in Tennessee, as Nick Westbrook-Ikhine left for the Miami Dolphins, and Tyler Boyd remains a free agent. Outside of Calvin Ridley, there isn’t a proven starter on the roster, so Jefferson may find himself in a similar situation in 2025.
