The Steelers are facing a familiar foe tomorrow night.
Welcome back to BTSC’s Friday night open thread:
- The Steelers are limping into the playoffs, but they’ve made it and will be squaring off against the Ravens. It’s easy to be negative about the current state of the team — spoilers for my pick in the staff poll — but in the spirit of Happy Hour, let’s try to project some positivity. If the Steelers walk out of Baltimore with a win, __________ needs to happen? Let’s hear your analysis in the comments!
- All-Pro teams were announced and Cam Heyward and Chris Boswell both made the first team. TJ Watt was selected for the second team. This was Heyward’s fifth All-Pro selection and the fourth time he’s been selected to the first team, matching Joe Greene’s total for most in Steeler’s history. What have been some of your favorite moments from Heyward’s career? Where do you rank him among the many great defensive linemen in Steelers’ history?
- Let’s hear your picks for the rest of the Wild Card field. The games are:
- Chargers at Texans
- Broncos at Bills
- Packers at Eagles
- Commanders at Buccaneers
- Vikings at Rams
4. The Steelers have been a tough watch the past few weeks, but I think to remember that things could always be worse. If you’re struggling to find anything to be positive about with the Steelers right now, that’s understandable. So with that in mind, let’s at least take a moment to rejoice in the downfall of a division rival, courtesy of Hard Knocks. Here is Cincinnati finding out they would not be making the playoffs.

5. Song of the Week: “Most of the Time” — Bob Dylan
I went to see “A Complete Unknown” with my dad over the holidays and it has sparked a revisiting of Bob Dylan’s catalog. This week, I’m going with a song off one of his more unheralded albums, 1989’s “Oh Mercy.” There’s just something about the song for me that mirrors the mood around Steelers Nation right now. Cheers to a good Friday Night. There’s playoff football tomorrow.
