Mason Rudolph officially said goodbye to Steelers fans on Wednesday.
Even though he signed a contract with the Tennesee Titans last week, he didn’t get to say goodbye to Steelers fans until now. He posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, thanking them for six great seasons with them.
“For the past 6 years, it has been a privilege to be part of the Pittsburgh community and represent the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Rudolph wrote.
“To my teammates, coaches, staff, Art Rooney, the Rooney family, Thomas Tull, Larry Paul, and the rest of the Steelers organization: Thank you for changing my life forever six years ago when you gave me the opportunity to wear the Black & Gold.”
“To the fans—your love and passion for the team is what makes it so special to play here. I will never forget playing in front of Yinz one final time this past December. All the Best. MR.”
Rudolph was a backup for most of his Steelers tenure but that changed last December when he started the final three games of the regular season and in the playoffs against the Buffalo Bills.
The Steelers went to him with their season on the line and he won all three starts, which got the Steelers in the playoffs.
He’ll now get to make more money with the Titans and back up Will Levis when the 2024 season starts.
