The Jets are glad to not be seeing Justin Fields as the starter.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are 4-2 and coming off a 32-13 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Despite that, they are starting quarterback Russell Wilson over Justin Fields – something that the New York Jets are very happy about. Dianna Russini of The Athletic says the Jets are glad to not be seeing Fields start on Sunday night.
“The Jets are happy about the news,” Russini writes. “They know Wilson will be knocking off rust and may even be dealing with some nerves. He’s getting his first start as a Steelers in primetime, at home. It’s a gamble. Wilson, a former Super Bowl winner and nine-time Pro Bowl selection, has been a different player since being traded from the Seattle Seahawks to the Denver Broncos in 2022; his swag is at an all-time low.”
While we can hope Wilson has a great outing, the more likely outcome is that he struggles and the Jets attack him with constant blitzes while the Steelers’ offense struggles.
