With Green Bay, Wisconsin set to host the 2025 NFL Draft, the NFL now has to decide on which NFL city will be hosting the 2026 edition of their largest offseason event of the year. By the looks of things, they’ve made their decision.
According to ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is expected to be awarded “a future NFL draft” at the upcoming owner’s meetings. Per the report, the Pittsburgh Steelers are “cautiously optimistic” of their chances that the city will be awarded the spot.
“Source described #Steelers as ‘cautiously optimistic’ that Pittsburgh will be awarded a future NFL draft at this week’s owners meetings in Nashville. The 2026 slot is open. Clarity should come today,” Fowler wrote.
The last time the NFL Draft was held in the city of Pittsburgh was 1949. It also hosted the draft in 1948.
Over the past few years the NFL has once again started moving the NFL Draft all around the country after previously hosting it in New York City for decades prior. The end result has been massive crowds that have gone over a million people visiting over the course of their three-day event.
In the past 10 years the Draft has gone to Chicago, Nashville, Los Angeles, Dallas, Detroit, Cleveland, Kansas City and Las Vegas just to name a few.
