Russell Wilson isn’t wasting time when it comes to his free agency tour. According to multiple reports, he’ll meet with the Pittsburgh Steelers this Friday.
Wilson will officially be released by the Denver Broncos when the new league year begins. He has received permission to speak with other teams.
Although this Friday’s meeting between Wilson and the Steelers hasn’t started yet, it’s become increasingly clear that he’s on his way to the Steel City.
A photo of Wilson catching a flight out of Newark Airport surfaced on social media this Friday morning.

Gerry Dulac reported this week that Pittsburgh is interested in signing Wilson. He’d bring experience to Mike Tomlin’s quarterback room, which is currently being led by Kenny Pickett.
Since Wilson will receive $39 million from the Broncos this year, he could sign a cheap deal with his next team. In fact, a veteran minimum salary is on the table, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
“He wants to help his new team by being a bargain,” Fowler said. “So, there will be a market for that. He wants to go to a team, I’m told to not only win, but has an infrastructure, a history of winning.”
The Steelers certainly have a “history of winning.” We’re talking about a franchise that has never had a losing season with Tomlin at the helm.
It’s important to note, however, that Pittsburgh isn’t the only suitor for Wilson. The Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants also have interest in signing him.
