Those who were expecting a relatively high-scoring matchup in this Ravens-Steelers showdown were likely very sorely disappointed, with another tough, gritty, low-scoring matchup appearing to be what’s on the menu for now.
How are you feeling through the first half, Steelers Nation? If you’re Mike Tomlin, what are you preaching during halftime?
The good news? Steelers are up, 9-7, and they’ve held the league’s most punishing offense in check, with two turnovers to limit their scoring despite some ability to move the ball. They’ve also largely contained Ravens QB Lamar Jackson as a runner. Justin Tucker also missed two field goal attempts to limit their overall scoring. Through two quarters, it’s still looking like anybody’s ball game.
On the downside, there’s been plenty of emotions that do seem to put discipline in question as RT Broderick Jones has been particularly heated, earning his first penalty toward disqualification.
Generally speaking, it was a brutal first half for the Steelers’ offense and Russell Wilson in particular, who’s been under duress for most of the day and not appearing to do himself any favors. It’s AFC North ball, baby!
