Russell Wilson believes Pittsburgh is exactly where he needed to be to get get his career back on track.
Speaking to the media at Steelers minicamp, the 35-year-old QB said he feels “revived” and “confident” heading into the 2024 season.
“I feel the fountain of youth. I feel revived in every way — mentally, emotionally, spiritually. I feel confident,” Wilson explained.
“I think at some point you have to know who you are — as a player, as a man, as a competitor… I don’t doubt it, I just trust it. I felt really good last year playing. I felt really confident in the midst of everything. So I think right now I have all that confidence times 10.”
It’s great to hear Russ in a positive headspace as he prepares to take on a new challenge. After nine Pro Bowls in 10 years, Wilson went to Denver and struggled.
Although it should be noted that last season was an improvement on all fronts.
Regardless, Russ now finds himself in black and gold where he hopes to once again place his name among the NFL’s best. But there’s still a lot of work to be done before the Steelers’ Week 1 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
