Bronco Country won’t be riding with Russell Wilson anymore. Now it’s all about “Here We Go” with Steeler Nation.
On Friday, Wilson officially signed his free agent contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In a video posted to the Steelers’ official X page, Wilson said that the contract was signed and he’s looking forward to the 2024 season.
“What’s up Steeler Nation. Just signed, baby! Fired up to wear the black and gold. Here we go!” Wilson said.
Wilson’s message is going viral with over 1,600 likes and several hundred retweets in just the first 10 minutes. Many fans trying to come up with a new catchphrase for him that’s similar to his infamous “Bronco Country, let’s ride!”

“Steelers Nation, let’s mill some steel or whatever they say,” one user replied.
“Russ cringe level instantly fell 75 points in this video #herewego,” wrote another.
“steeler nation, let’s weld!” a third wrote, trying to manifest something.
Wilson joins the Steelers on a very inexpensive deal thanks to his contract with the Denver Broncos still paying him tens of millions despite having been cut by the team a few weeks back.
The last two years have been uncharacteristically rough for Wilson. He’s gone 11-19 as a starter and seemingly regressed significantly from the Pro Bowl form he showed off so often during his 10 years with the Seattle Seahawks.
2024 with the Steelers might be the year that proves once and for all whether Wilson has what it takes to be a great NFL quarterback again, or was never really all that great in the first place.
