Russell Wilson sounds excited for his first season with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
On Wednesday afternoon, Wilson shared footage of him getting in a workout. His post on social media included an encouraging message for Pittsburgh fans.
“Love the Work,” Wilson wrote on X. “The Best Is Ahead.”
Wilson signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract with the Steelers last week. The Pro Bowl quarterback will make an additional $38 million this year from the Broncos.

Wilson is currently projected to be the Week 1 starter for the Steelers. In the event he struggles during training camp, Pittsburgh could quickly pivot to Justin Fields.
“The fact of the matter is they have the luxury of letting this play out during camp and doing whatever is best for that football team,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter said, via Steeler Nation. “There is no commitment, obligation, loyalty to anyone of these guys. They didn’t pay very much for either one of them. I even had an executive say if Justin Fields outplayed him during training camp, they could see them moving on from him before the season.”
Even though Wilson wasn’t considered a great fit for Sean Payton’s offense in Denver, he managed to have 3,070 passing yards, 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions during the 2023 season. If he has similar production this fall, he’d be a huge upgrade over Kenny Pickett.
