The Steelers have two of of the best players in football.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are in the midst of their bye week, sitting at 6-2 and riding high atop the AFC North while holding the No. 2 seed in the AFC.
Despite not playing this week, multiple Steelers have received mid-season accolades for their play in the first half of the NFL season. PFF released their mid-season All-Pro and All-Rookie teams, and four Steelers feature across each roster.
T.J. Watt and Cam Heyward were named mid-season All-Pros, while Zach Frazier and Payton Wilson were named to the All-Rookie team.
Watt currently leads the NFL with four forced fumbles and has 6.5 sacks with 14 hits on the quarterback. He also has 10 tackles for loss. Heyward has 33 tackles, with four for loss.
In terms of the rookies, Frazier has been terrific all season and looks very much like a franchise center. He’s allowed zero sacks thus far and only four pressures, and his run blocking has been something that has sprung the offense forward. Wilson has 39 tackles through eight games while being credited with 14 stops, which is PFF’s stat for a tackle being made that results in a successful play for the defense.
The Steelers have been very good this season, and they’ve done well while their stars and young playmakers have risen to the occasion.
