Pittsburgh signs a rangy corner for the offseason.
The Steelers added another player to the team’s offseason roster on Tuesday. Per a team announcement, Pittsburgh has signed defensive back Cameron McCutcheon to a reserve/future contract.
McCutcheon went undrafted in 2023 out of Western Carolina, signing with the Los Angeles Rams, where he’s spent time over the last two seasons. In his final college season at WCU, he logged 32 total tackles, four passes defensed, and one forced fumble. He started 11 games at cornerback that season, and played five total seasons at the NCAA level for WCU and Gardner Webb.
The 6’3, 200-pound defender fits the Steelers’ size preferences for outside cornerback. In high school, he reportedly ran the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds.
McCutcheon worked out for the Steelers in September, and with the signing, the tryout has finally paid off.
