The Steelers’ edge rusher has an injured ankle
The Pittsburgh Steelers came away with an exciting win over the Washington Commanders in Week 10, defeating the surprising NFC East leaders 28-27 to hold onto their own lead in the AFC North. However, it didn’t come without injuries.
Alex Highsmith left the game with an ankle injury, and was seen after the game on crutches. In his weekly Tuesday press conference, head coach Mike Tomlin was quick to rule Highsmith out for Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens. Tomlin added that “it makes it even cooler [that] we have a guy like Preston Smith” whom the Steelers acquired at the trade deadline. Tomlin also added that he expects Nick Herbig to return this week, which will give the Steelers a strong three-man rotation off the edge to keep Lamar Jackson and the Ravens’ offense in check.
Mike Tomlin:
Alex Highsmith is out this week. But will be week-to-week with his injury. Says “it makes it even cooler we have a guy like Preston Smith.”
Also says he feels comfortable that Nick Herbig will be back this week. #Steelers

The Steelers have won seven of the last eight games against the Ravens, and can really carve out a clear path to win the division with a win on Sunday.
