Keys to victory for Week 8
The Pittsburgh Steelers have put together consecutive wins in which they scored a combined 69 points and won by a combined margin of 41 points. They’ll face a New York Giants team that has scored 10 points combined in their last two games. Here’s how they’ll get to 6-2 ahead of the bye week.
Finish tackles
The Steelers allowed multiple long catches and runs from Breece Hall after several missed tackles sprung him open for extra yards. Devin Singletary has only broken four tackles this season – finish tackles and eliminate bonus yardage that are of your own creation.
Pressure Daniel Jones
The Giants have a ton of injuries up front. Left tackle Andrew Thomas is gone for the year, and Jermaine Eluemunor is questionable to play. This should be a massive T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith game against subpar tackles. When Jones is pressured this season, he’s completing just 44 percent of his passes and has a passer rating of just 56.6. Pressure Jones and he’ll inevitably shoot the Giants in the foot.
Air it out
The Giants have given up a league-high 65 percent completions on passes 15 or more yards downfield this season. Russell Wilson should copy and paste what he did in Week 7 against the Jets – launch one-on-one balls to George Pickens and give him a chance to make a play. Against these defensive backs, he will.
