Guy’s got jokes!
The Pittsburgh Steelers are still in need of a starting quarterback less than a day out from the start of the NFL’s legal tampering period, with 2024 QBs Justin Fields and Russell Wilson about to hit free agency. No worries, though. Kicker Chris Boswell is here to save the day.
Following the team’s blockbuster trade for WR D.K. Metcalf on Sunday evening, Boswell took to Instagram and acknowledged Pittsburgh’s lack of quarterback with a photo of him holding a football, stating, “I got this. GP and DK down there somewhere.”

If the Steelers don’t move on from George Pickens this offseason, the combination of him and Metcalf along the perimeter would no doubt be a high-upside one for whatever quarterback winds up behind center. Both bost elite ball skills and top-end physicality that could raise the ceiling for any passer significantly — as long as that passer was, you know, an actual NFL quarterback.
Boswell, a 2x NFL Pro Bowler and 1x First-Team All-Pro kicker, has completed a single pass on two attempts in his NFL career — a two-yard gain for a touchdown to Pro Bowl left tackle Alejandro Villaneuva, of all people.
