After an incredibly hot start to the 2024 season, everything fell apart for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers lost their final four regular-season games and got doubled up by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the playoffs.
With the season wrapped up, ESPN has put out their end-of-the-season NFL power rankings which include the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles at No. 1.
As for the Steelers, they check in at No. 17 which to be fair, feels quite generous. Eight AFC teams ranked lower than the Steelers, none of which made the playoffs. In fact, no playoff team ranked lower in the rankings and two teams that missed the playoffs were ranked higher.
If the Steelers want to be competitive in 2025, the key is to get the quarterback situation settled and bolster both sides of the line of scrimmage. This is in addition to finding a legitimate starting wide receiver and potentially a running back as well.
