The Super Bowl LIX matchup between the Eagles and Chiefs has come and gone, with Philadelphia walking away victorious. All eyes will quickly shift to what the 2025 offseason has in store, especially in the Steel City and how the Pittsburgh Steelers should handle the draft.
Pro Football Focus has released its post-Super Bowl NFL mock draft, predicting the Pittsburgh Steelers will use the 21st overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to select Texas Longhorn DB Jahdae Barron.
Barron is an incredibly talented player, having won the Jim Thorpe Award in 2024, a prestigious honor bestowed upon college football’s top defensive back.
He primarily played safety in 2022, slot CB in 2023, and found great success transitioning to outside CB in 2024.
PFF defended their projection by emphasizing his versatility to play multiple positions in the secondary:
“After playing safety in 2022, slot cornerback in 2023 and outside cornerback in 2024, he’ll be exactly what Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin wants in his secondary: a chess piece who fills one of the team’s top needs.”
The 2025 NFL Draft is still over two months away, but the anticipation for the Pittsburgh Steelers to draft great talent is palpable.
