Plus, other injury updates from the 412…
The Pittsburgh Steelers are headed out west this week for a showdown with the Las Vegas Raiders, and unfortunately, they’ll be without a number of key playmakers on the week. The team issued their official game statuses with the final practice report of the week, ruling out six players including outside linebackers Alex Highsmith and Nate Herbig, safety Damontae Kazee, running back Cordarrelle Patterson, tight end MyCole Pruitt, and defensive end DeMarvin Leal.
Meanwhile, running back Jaylen Warren, who has missed each of the last two contests with a knee injury, is officially listed as questionable for Week 6. His status in particular is a bit of a surprise, having been upgraded to a full participant in practice after HC Mike Tomlin announced that he was trending as “doubtful” to play this week.
In other good news, tight end Pat Freiermuth practiced in full on Friday after popping up on the injury report with a calf issue on Thursday and he carries no injury designation ahead of the weekend.
QB Russell Wilson is also officially off the injury report, practicing in full each day this week while Justin Fields prepared as QB1 for this matchup. Tomlin confirmed on Friday that Wilson would serve as the backup rather than the emergency third QB — the role he’s held up through the first five weeks of the season. TBD on just how short a leash Fields will have in this contest as Wilson had previously been named the starting quarterback prior to injury.
Here’s a full look at the full final practice report and injury designations ahead of Week 6.
