The rookie wide receiver is dealing with a hamstring injury
Just when it looked like rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson was going to be worked into the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense, he takes another step backwards.
The rookie from Michigan has been placed on injured reserve with a hamstring issue. He will miss at least the next four games. Wilson made his debut in the Steelers’ win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6, playing in just five snaps. He was inactive against the New York Jets in Week 7, and now will be on the shelf once again. He suffered a sprained ankle in training camp that kept him sidelined for the preseason and the first five weeks of the regular season. Now, he will miss at least another month.
The Steelers have been centered around trade rumors for a receiver dating back to April ahead of the NFL Draft. With Wilson not looking like he’ll be able to be included in any plans anytime soon, perhaps this makes the Steelers finally offer enough for a complimentary receiver on offense.
