Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson had a blast at PNC Park on Friday.
Wilson was taking batting practice with the Pittsburgh Pirates and looked to hit a ball pretty far during one of his swings.
He’s no stranger to baseball after playing the sport while he was at NC State. It led to the Colorado Rockies selecting him in the fourth round of the 2010 MLB Draft before he spent a couple of seasons in the minor leagues.
Even though he ended up choosing football, he was still traded a couple of times at the MLB level.

Wilson was also throwing the football with Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen outside the batting cage. The former is expected to throw out the first pitch for Friday night’s game against the Boston Red Sox.
Wilson signed with the Steelers when free agency opened and has been fired up to be with the team and in the city since he signed the contract. He’s expected to be the starting quarterback for this season after the team didn’t get good quarterback play last year.
You can watch Wilson throw out the first pitch at 6:40 p.m. ET on SportsNet Pittsburgh or NESN.
