Even though Johnson only has 13 combined touchdowns over the last three seasons, he’s a heck of a route-runner and is great with yards after the catch.
He finished the 2023 season with 51 receptions for 717 yards and five touchdowns.
If the Steelers do trade him, it’ll probably be over the next week since he has a $3 million roster bonus that’s due by next Saturday. The Steelers won’t want to pay that extra money and then deal him.
If he does get dealt, he’d need to be replaced through the 2024 NFL Draft. They’d be down one of their best weapons in the passing game.
Johnson has been with the Steelers for the past five seasons and has compiled 391 receptions for 4,363 yards and 25 touchdowns.
The Steelers could be one of the busiest teams in the league over the next week. Aside from potentially trading Johnson, they might be active in the secondary market and the quarterback market.
