The Pittsburgh Steelers met with one of their former cornerbacks this past week.
According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan met with Cameron Sutton in Pittsburgh last week.
Sutton is the team’s former third-round pick in 2017 and spent six seasons with the Steelers before signing with the Detroit Lions. He was with the Lions during the 2023 season but was released after he was allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident.
He turned himself into police before getting released on Apr. 1.
During Sutton’s time with the Steelers, he developed into a starting cornerback and had back-to-back seasons of 40+ total tackles before he signed with the Lions.
His best season (with the Steelers) came in 2021 when he compiled 52 total tackles, a forced fumble, two interceptions, and six passes defended.
He played in all 17 games during the 2023 season, finishing with 65 total tackles, a forced fumble, an interception, and six passes defended.
Time will tell how Khan and Tomlin feel coming out from that meeting and if the two sides will reunite.
