The Steelers have a potential terrific duo on their hands.
The Pittsburgh Steelers finally landed a receiver via trade ahead of the NFL trade deadline, acquiring Mike Williams from the New York Jets in exchange for a fifth-round pick. Pittsburgh originally had a visit scheduled with Williams during free agency, but he ended up signing with New York before the visit ever took place.
Regardless, the Steelers’ receiving corps got better. And it isn’t just fans that believe that, it’s Williams’ new teammates that believe it, as well. When asked about the addition of Williams, George Pickens said he was happy to have another deep threat in the offense.
“It’s good to have another big body that can go downfield,” Pickens said. “For defensive coordinators, it’s gonna be hard for sure.”
Williams was the trusted deep threat of Justin Herbert for four seasons in Los Angeles with the Chargers, and now the Steelers are hoping for similar results for the remainder of the season.
