Winners and losers from Week 6
The Pittsburgh Steelers are now 4-2 after scoring their second-most points in the post-Big Ben era. There were several strong performers from Week 6, so let’s get into it.
Varsity
EDGE T.J. Watt
Watt had one of his most dominant performances to date, which is pretty amazing considering he didn’t have a sack. However, the three-time sack king had two tackles for loss and forced two fumbles that were recovered by the Steelers, including one at the goal line that killed a Vegas scoring change and their realistic chances of winning. He is the best defensive player in football, and right now he is the best player in football all together.
LB Patrick Queen
Kudos to Queen. After being quite inconsistent int he first five weeks, the big free agent signing had a team-high 13 tackles, including a tackle for loss.
DT Cam Heyward
Heyward playing like this at age 35 is absurd. He had four tackles, the team’s only sack, and a tackle for loss. He still has a lot of good football in him.
LB Jeremiah Moon
Moon made the most of getting more snaps this week, blocking a punt that set up a Steelers field goal.
CB Donte Jackson
Jackson has been a takeaway machine this season. He had his third interception of the young campaign, and his pick led to a Justin Fields touchdown.
K Chris Boswell
He continues to be a marksman. Boswell went 4-of-4 on field goals, including a 52 yarder to open up the scoring. He is as reliable a kicker as there is in the league.
QB Justin Fields
Fields didn’t have a good day through the air, going just 14-of-24 for 145 yards. But what he did do was showcase the aspect that makes him different from many quarterbacks. Fields ran for 59 yards and two scores, both of which were highs as a Steeler. He finished with an EPA of 0.17, which would place eighth in the NFL should he maintain that pace for the entire season. He now has 10 total touchdowns to just one interception, and is sandwiched between C.J. Stroud and Patrick Mahomes in EPA per play for the season.
RB Najee Harris
What a game from Harris. I’d argue it was his best performance as a Steeler. He ran for 106 yards and averaged almost eight yards per carry and his 36 yard touchdown gave the Steelers a 15-point lead and all but iced the win for the Steelers.
Run blocking
Shoutout to Mason McCormick, Isaac Seumalo, Zach Frazier, and Ryan McCollum who filled in for Frazier after he left the game with injury. The Steelers accumulated 183 yards on the ground and averaged over five yards per carry – that’s the kind of game they want to play.
Junior-Varsity
OT Broderick Jones
Another penalty after a big gain for a first down, and there was one play where the snap gets to Fields and it looked like Jones’ controller disconnected because he didn’t move a muscle.

Yes, Broderick, we are all wondering how you got there. pic.twitter.com/WzzUkKsyVR

Starting fast
Once again, the Steelers failed to get off to a fast start. It looked as if they would when they had two first downs on their two first plays, but the opening drive stalled out and they had to settle for a long field goal.
That trick play
Delete that and never do it again.
