Allen Robinson was a cap casualty in March after spending the 2023 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He was cut before free agency started since the Steelers needed to make room for other players, including Patrick Queen and Russell Wilson.
It’s a move that “surprised” Robinson even though he later signed with the New York Giants.
“I know for them, they were doing a lot of changes over there, schematic changes, and different things like that so it was a little surprising,” Robinson said, via the Giants’ official website. “But at the end of the day, it’s a part of the business. I’ve been in this thing now going on 11 years.”
Robinson signed with the Giants in early May and will be an added weapon for quarterback Daniel Jones and the team’s offense.
He appeared in all 17 games for the Steelers in 2023, finishing with 34 receptions for 280 yards and no touchdowns.
This will be his fifth NFL team after spending previous time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, and the Steelers.
