The Kenny Pickett era in Pittsburgh is officially over.
Pickett has been traded to the Philadelphia Eagles after he handled the Russell Wilson signing poorly, per Gerry Dulac.
Albert Breer then confirmed Dulac’s report and added that Pickett was fine with competing for the starting quarterback job before he changed course and got upset.
Pickett only lasted two seasons before the Steelers felt it was time to move on. He didn’t develop the way they thought he would, so it led to them bringing in Wilson and then moving him to the Eagles.
Pickett played in 12 games during his rookie season and completed 62% of his passes for 2,070 yards, six touchdowns, and four interceptions.
He then played in 13 games this past season and finished with 2,404 yards through the air, seven touchdowns, and nine interceptions.
He was then benched for Mason Rudolph at the end of the season even when he was healthy enough to play.
With Pickett on the Eagles, he’ll now be Jalen Hurts’ backup while the Steelers try and figure out who will be behind Russell Wilson.
Could that be Justin Fields? Stay tuned to find out.
