One of the biggest question marks surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers is whether to re-sign RBs Najee Harris or Jaylen Warren to lead the Black and Gold rushing attack. However, a 2025 Comeback Player of the Year nominee, set to hit free agency, could be a better fit for the Steelers’ offense than either Harris or Warren.
RB J.K. Dobbins had an incredible breakout season in 2024 with the Los Angeles Chargers. Despite missing four games due to injury, Dobbins hit career highs in both rushing and receiving yards, accumulating 1,058 yards from scrimmage—his first 1,000-yard season in his five-year career.
With the Ravens, Dobbins suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2021, as well as tearing his Achilles in 2023. His bounce-back season in 2024 led to serious Comeback Player of the Year consideration, before ultimately losing out on the award to Bengals QB Joe Burrow.
Dobbins in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense would do wonders for the Black and Gold rushing attack, as he proved in 2024 that he still has the speed to take any attempt for a TD.
If Harris or Warren hit free agency in 2025, Dobbins should be the running back of the future to take their place.
